Featured OLAP.com Editorial

What is OLAP?  It’s been a contentious topic since E.F. Codd coined the term in 1993 and laid down his 12 rules about what constitutes online analytical processing.  Though we’re not exactly purists, we’ve tried to use those rules as product design guidelines. Because in our view OLAP, and technologies that use OLAP for Business Intelligence and Planning, constitute the most powerful and exciting means available to business people who are trying to make a real difference at their companies and in their own work lives.

And though OLAP.com is designed to be a regularly updated source of information about all things OLAP—a way for you to research “What is OLAP?”—we invite you to:

Explore our latest technology, Olation®, which is proof that OLAP has entered a New, Golden Age.

and Contribute to OLAP.com with your own viewpoint, blog posts, etc.—we’d love to hear back from you.
