What is a Formula?

A formula is a database object, which is a calculation, rule or other expression for manipulating data within a multidimensional database. Formulae are written using a rich syntax that allows straightforward specification of complex regions in multidimensional space. Formulae define relationships among Members. Formulae are used by OLAP Cube builders to provide great richness of content and can be utilized to model enterprise relationships and to personalize data for greater visualization and insight.
