What are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)?

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), sometimes referred to as Key Success Indicator (KSIs), are business metric that help gauge the progress of an enterprise in meeting its business goals. KPIs vary for different types of organizations, and even across departments within an organization–thus, there may be sales, supply chain, finance and other KPIs that are relevant to a business’s needs to understand performance.
