The lesson walks you through the basics of entering data in an OLAP-empowered “Slice” of data. You are viewing this OLAP Slice in Excel. And you can interact with it via entering data. The difference is, when you enter it in Excel here, you also capture it in an OLAP database, which gives you a lot of power to analyze and report on your data.
It’s as simple as typing in numbers or copying across, as you normally would in Excel, and then hitting the F9 button to enter it into the OLAP database sitting behind and empowering Excel. Data can also be imported or even integrated and populated completely by other database systems, or a data lake.
Watch the video below and enter data into your model similarly. Once you’ve entered some numbers into your model, hit that complete button!
